Which is it?
Good morning brothers and sisters. I have heard my whole life that Jesus brings peace. Jesus wants peace. And throughout all of His teachings, He tells us to have peace. But.. in Luke 12, He states He comes to bring division. SO which is it? It is both. Luke 12:49-53. I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, NOT AT ALL, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided; three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. I had to pray and search for the meaning of this. He didn't bring peace for the whole world. He brings peace for His children. He brings peace for those who truly follow Him. He is saying, if you believe in Me, those who don't believe in Me, will be against you. And sometimes it is in one's own household. So see how it is both. He brings peace but yet also division. It is high time that we truly understand what Jesus means. We, as His children, need to understand what God's word says and not what others tells us it says. The only way for you to understand is to open it, seek Him and you will be taught. Rise up child of God, rise up!
