Where does it come from?
Good morning brothers and sisters. Do we understand where our wisdom comes from? It comes from God. How do we know if it is God whispering in our ear or the devil trying to get us to be selfish? In the book of James, we get a good understanding of how to know which is which. Let's take a look. James 3:13-18. 13- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. Now that is the question and the answer. He tells us to let our behavior and words and work be done in meekness. 14- But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. Here he gives a warning. 15- This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. Now we know, but lets read on. 16- For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. See when we think of only ourselves and what we do, it is not from God. Yes, He cares for you but our lives are not our own when we live for Him. We no longer live for self but for Him that gave us life. Now lets look at heavenly wisdom. 17- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. When we live for Christ, we live for others. When we prepare for whatever comes our way, we prepare for others not just self. We seek the needs of others sometimes even before our own. He will take care of His children. Now the very last verse. 18- Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. Do you have peace from the Father? If not, then you can not sow peace. But if the Holy Spirit lives inside you, it is up to you to make peace. And don't misunderstand, no where did I say make peace and break the commandments of God. We can keep the commandments that Jesus taught us and still make peace. I know it is hard but that is where the Holy Spirit comes in. Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
