What to do next?
Good Morning. The last time I wrote I spoke of believing. And believing is the first step to a relationship with Jesus. All it takes is to believe. Then we invite Jesus in. That is the beauty of Jesus, He never forces you to believe. He gives you a choice. But today I want to talk with those of you that say you have a relationship with Jesus. But I want you to look at the words. "Then He said to them ALL, "IF anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me, for whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?" We have to have the desire to follow Jesus. But it tells us to deny ourselves. To deny oneself, we must deny what the world accepts. We must deny our desires if they don't line up with God's plan. It may be something that we really want but if God says no, then we must deny it. We must deny our thoughts. To deny thoughts, we must replace thoughts that are not good with Scripture. I picked one scripture and memorized it and whenever thoughts that were not of God come to mind, I would quote that Scripture. But we can not compare ourselves to one another, because your walk with Jesus will not look like someone's else walk. We all fight different things. Then we have to pick up the cross. The cross is heavy. The cross is ugly. The cross is offensive. The cross will take you to places you never dreamed of going. The cross will take you to people you never thought you would go to. Then He says to follow me. We are to follow His footsteps. We are to match His steps. And when we are following, He WILL say what about there? Or how about there? Or what about that person? Or what about this person? See when we follow Him, we get His ears, eyes and heart. We then get to see people as He sees them-WORTHY! But we also get wisdom, discernment and knowledge. They will guide us through this crazy thing we call life. And at the end, we get to here "Welcome home good and faithful servant." I will emphasize again, the life with Jesus Christ, a true life with Jesus Christ, is not easy. You will have hard times. But you will be able to overcome because Jesus is right besides you. Have a blessed day! Rise up children of God, rise up!
