What Jesus is telling us to do

Good morning brothers and sisters. Like I wrote yesterday, we are sticking with some things that Jesus is telling us, Christ followers, what we are to do in this world. So let's just dig right into this. I will be cross referencing other scripture also. This is how you also study, so lets get going. Matthew 4:10- Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve.'" This is the greatest commandment. Also like it is to love your God. So let's dig and see what scripture has to say about this. We have read this one before. Matthew 22:37-40- 37-Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38- This is the first and great commandment. 39- And the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40- On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Both of these scriptures are written in red. And if you don't know, those are Jesus' words. We ought to pay attention. But let's look at some more. Deuteronomy 10:12-13- 12-"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 13-And to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command to you today for your good. See it was a commandment before Jesus came, during Jesus' time on earth and still a commandment after the resurrection. But lets see if we can find more. Joshua 22:5- But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart, and with all your soul. Just a few more and you will first know that we are to love the Lord our God with everything in us and also know how to cross reference in the Bible. Mark 12:29-31- 29-Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is, 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30- And you love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. 31-And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." If we do these God in everything. Everything filtered through the Holy Spirit then we can live 1 Corinthians 13:4-7- 4-Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5- does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, 6-does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7- bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. So lets walk in one with Jesus Christ and love beyond what the world thinks we should or could. Because without Jesus Christ in our lives, we could not do this. Have a blessed day and rise up children of God, rise up!
