What is wisdom?

Good morning brothers and sisters. Words and what do they mean? Can we just change the meaning? Do we make words fit our narratives? Or do words have a meaning. Let's take the word wisdom for a moment. What does it mean? The quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgment, the quality of being wise. The very first is experience. You get wisdom from experience. So why are we so apt to brush off the older generations way of life or thinking. Believe it or not, they do have some wisdom. Because they lived it. And if we were to learn from their experience, we might not go back and do some things that should never be repeated. And is wisdom biblical? Well, yes it is. Let's take a look at Proverbs 4:5-9. 5- "Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Wisdom is not something you are born with. We must get it. We must search for it. 6- Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her and she will keep you. It is something you can turn from. 7- Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding. I think when you find wisdom, you will also find understanding. I think the two go hand in hand. That is just my thought. 8- Exalt her and she will promote you. She will bring honor when you embrace her. 9- She will place on your head an ornament of grace, a crown of glory, she will deliver to you." Wow oh wow. We have to embrace wisdom, not reject. We have to love her and not hate her. And when we do, she will bring glory and honor to your life. So today, find wisdom. And when you find her, bring understanding with you.
