What a week!

Good morning brothers and sisters. What a week! Let me start by saying, "If it weren't for Jesus in me, keeping me calm, then I would not made it through." So it started on Monday when I heard a drip of water. I looked all day for that drip noise and could not find it. I was doing my morning devotion when that little drip sounded like water flowing. So I looked in all the obvious places. So then I got down on my hands and knees and started crawling, all the while listening for that water. Finally found it! The culprit- the water heater. So I looked everywhere for a shut off valve, it didn't have one. So I did what my husband has always said to me, "You can't find the source, turn it off at the main. So I did. You have to understand, several decades ago, when my husband and I got married, we had an agreement. I would take care of cooking, cleaning, laundry, getting kids off to school and what have you. He had to take care of the maintenance. That was just our way and it has worked for us. So this is a big deal for me. Got the water off. Husband comes home and delivers the bad news. We need a new water heater. I did not know how expensive these little things were. Let me tell you, they will hurt a pocket book, So on his off day, we go and get a new water heater. We have to take out the old one. Get the new water heater in and let me tell that was a small miracle in of itself because of location. So when he goes to connect the pipes back to the new water heater, he notices something is off. He looks into the pipes and they are corroded. So now we have to get new pipes. Get new pipes on and we turn the water back on. He is ready to put the exhaust on the water heater as it is gas and the old parts don't fit the new. So after the tank fills up, I asked him why is there water coming out of the ground. He comes to look. He digs it up and a sewer line is busted. Not just a crack but completely busted open. And mind you we have not had this house very long. So he gathers up what he is going to need. I fall and break my foot. Get the foot taken care of and then the next day off to the hardware store to get the needed supplies. Now everything is fixed except foot. But I said all this to say what Jesus told me in Matthew 7: 24-27. Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25-And the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall for it was founded on the rock. 26- But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them; will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand, 27- and the rain descended, the floods came and the wind blew and beat on the house; and it fell. And great was its fall. See, my husband and I praised Jesus through it all. We thanked Him for being able to get what was needed. We thanked Him for the physical energy to get it done. We thanked Him for each other. Neither of us lost our cool. Which is miracle! Guys build your foundation on Jesus and when things happen, you won't lose it. Repent, refresh, revive. Rise up child of God, rise up!
