Good Morning to all. I have been reading and listening to people over the last few days quoting Scripture. And what I have come to see, is that most people do not even know the context behind the Scripture. They quote it because it fits the situation and I wondered did God have something to say about this. Now don't get me wrong, I have gotten Scripture wrong many, many times and God has corrected me either by touching my spirit or sending someone more wise than I. And I am always thankful. I don't want to get Scripture wrong. So that is why it is important to read the whole thing and not just one Scripture. Sure we all have that verse or verses that mean something special but shouldn't the entire Bible do that for us even the parts that we do not like. It is all in there for us to be able to follow Jesus Christ and to our heavenly home. So I am going to 2 Peter 3. I am starting with verse 14. But 2 Peter 3 is a warning, go and read the whole book. But let's start with verse 14. 14- Therefore, BELOVED, looking forward to these things, BE DILIGENT to be bound BY Him without spot and blameless; We are to always be ready for our Lord and Savior. So this is not only a daily walk, but an hour by hour; minute by minute walk. We want to be found doing His work. 15- and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord IS salvation- as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you. 16- as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they also the rest of the Scripture. Welp, there it is. We, human beings, use the Scripture for our own benefit and get it wrong. We need to understand the Scripture and the only way to do that is to fully live in Christ Jesus. I don't want you to take what I say and write and as the truth, I want you to dig in their and find the truth then we are in one accord and God's word is moving forth. But look he goes on to say something else. 17- YOU therefore, BELOVED, since you know this beforehand BEWARE lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18- BUT GROW in the grace and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. TO HIM BE THE GLORY BOTH NOW AND FOREVER. AMEN! He tells us to grow. We need to come together as one and not what we think that it all means. We need to what it means because that is what Jesus says it means. You don't need me, you really don't. All you need is the Word of God and yearning for Jesus and the Holy Spirit will do the rest. Guys lets dig in and move. Have a blessed day and rise up children of God, rise up! I will quote from a movie "Where are you men of courage?"
