Unity

Good morning brothers and sisters. Unity? What is that really? The dictionary describes it as being joined as a whole. God speaks of unity as they are three in one. And who are they- God-the Father; God- the Son and God-the Holy Spirit. He also calls us to be united. I know that I have used this before and God says to speak on it again. We are close but yet still so far away. There is several verses about us being united. We are on most things but we don't come together. We are still separated. So let's look at this. Ephesians 4:1-6. 1- I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2- with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3- endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4- There is one body, and one Spirit just as you were called in one hope of your calling, 5- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6- one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. If God says it, it can be done. Here is what was said to another church. 1 Corinthians 1:10- Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment. Now what about Philippians 2:1-2. 1- Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2-fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. See three different churches in three different regions but the message is the same. The message is the same for us. We need to lay down our differences and come together united in Christ Jesus our Lord. He is our hope and our salvation. Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
