Today, just today
Good Morning all. As I sit and look around me, not just in my town but around the globe and things have caught my eye. Not just political, not just religious as most are saying. But just everything in general. I had to go back to 2 Timothy 3 starting with verse 1. "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not overs of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- having a form of godliness but denying its power, Have nothing to do with such people." This few lines in scripture describes the world we live in today. Not just those that don't live by God's law but those who proclaim to live by God's law. Look at all the things that describes our world and that breaks my heart. But Jesus also says in John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." The Bible tells us the good and the bad but most just want to hear the good. They don't want to look at verses like 2 Timothy because it makes them have to look in the mirror and reevaluate their life. But we need scripture like 2 Timothy so we can stay humble. The Bible also tells us in 2 Timothy 3:9 "But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone." Hey all you in leadership, no matter if it is political, religious, corporate or what, if you are doing this God is going to expose you. What am I saying, if anyone is being like this: God is going to expose you. It is very plain. God gives this to his followers through Timothy- v10- "YOU, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings- what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. YET the Lord rescued me from all of them." And if we are following Christ Jesus footsteps, he too will rescue us. But it starts with us. It starts right where you are planted. Jump to verse 16- "ALL Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." Without getting and learning God's word, we will not be equipped to handle the world. We will be like a boat with no one to steer it, tossing about the waves with no direction. Get in the Word of God, do the Word of God so you are ready for battle. Don't worry about being persecuted or being made fun of- Jesus has got your back! Have a blessed day and RISE UP!!!
