The whole!
Good morning brothers and sisters. I recently went to an event and it was good. It brought all denominations together. But as I looked around, it got me to wondering. Do we do the whole? We have this physical thing we call life. We go to work. We raise the children. We pay the bills. We do the laundry. We clean the house. We mow the grass. We fix things when they are broken. We go to church. These are all things that are mundane. We do them without even thinking. It is life. The very last thing that we do should not be mundane. It should not be something we just do. It is the one thing that should make us feel alive in Jesus. It is the one thing that should make us want to shout from the rooftop. But it a mundane task to check off. So I was reading where Paul is teaching in Ephesus and he is not ashamed. Do our leaders of the church do what Paul did or is preaching in the church just something they do? It is mundane task that they have to do. Acts 20:27- "For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God." Paul had given them everything; the great, the hard, the reality of living for Jesus. Do our leaders in the church do that? Or do they just tell of the pretty parts and when life happens, and it does; is the sheep ready? Do they prepare us for the trials? Do we even open our Bibles other than on Sunday mornings? Are we as individuals seeking the whole counsel of God? As you can tell, I have a lot of questions this morning. Why is the world not set on fire with the Holy Spirit revival? Why are we not seeing people turn from their wicked ways and be healed? Could it be we are not showing them the whole counsel of God? It is up to us. So lets dust off our armor because we are going to need it. Because it WILL be a battle. Lets put on the WHOLE armor of God and show the world the WHOLE counsel of God. Here is what we must put on for battle. Put it on. Ephesians 6:10-20. 10- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11- Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil 12- For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14- Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15- and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16- above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18- praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints- 19- and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20- for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD! Rise up child of God, rise up!
