The Vessel
Good Morning brothers and sisters. Today is the day that we wake up and GET to be the vessel of Jesus. Yesterday, I asked if you had made Jesus your Lord and I pray that many did. And as we move through this journey together, I pray that each and everyone of us become the vessel that God has chosen you to be. But what does it mean to be a vessel. Well, if you look at the definition it means a wide variety of things. Like it could mean a large boat, a blood vessel, a container carrying liquid inside. But notice that all these things have something in common. They all carry something in them or on them. So Christ followers are also vessels. We carry inside of us what the world needs-JESUS! But they also have something else in common. They all carry the goods somewhere else. A boat carries its good to a new destination to be unloaded. A blood vessel carries the blood to the heart and other vital organs to keep you alive. A vessel that contains liquid goes to its destination to unload the liquid. We too have a destination and we too need to unload what is inside of us. What does the Bible say about being a vessel? Lets turn to 2 Timothy 2:20-21- But in a great house there are not only vessels of good and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself of the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master prepared for every good work. Now it says that vessels have honor and dishonor. Those who live in Jesus are the vessels of honor but those that don't are the dishonor. But that doesn't end there, it says if they want to become a honorable vessel, they must get cleansed and then the Master will use them and make them ready for all good work. See we can't cleanse ourselves and we get ourselves ready. The Lord Jesus Christ prepares us. He gives the knowledge to be able to stand firm on His foundation. We will never fail when we fully rely on Jesus. So are you an honorable or dishonorable vessel? I want to be an honorable vessel. So break me, mold me for all Your good works, Lord Jesus Christ. Have a blessed day and rise up children of God, rise up!
