Stumble but not fall
Good Morning brothers and sisters. I pray that today finds you following Jesus and the call He has put on your life. Yesterday, I was at work. And I was walking across the parking lot and I stumbled. There was just a little crack in the pavement that had risen up and I tripped over it. Now I did not see it as I was not looking down. I was not watching my path of which I was traveling. God brought me to several scripture in just that one simple act alone. First, Psalm 37:23-24- "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, For the Lord upholds him with His hand." Even though I stumbled on the pavement, God reminded me that is how sin is. And if I not been focused on my life with Christ, then I would have fallen. But since I have fully committed to the Lord, I will NOT be utterly cast down even though I stumble. He holds me up with HIS hand. No one sustains me but Jesus. This reminds me of Peter asking Jesus to call Him out on the water in Matthew. But Peter doubts and starts to sink. See, if I doubt that what God has planned for my life then I, too, will start to sink. I have to have my eyes fixed on Jesus and not what is going on all around me. Because I am running the race of the faith. Hebrews 12:1-2- " Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the AUTHOR and FINISHER of OUR FAITH, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Jesus gave me the right way to live, I will follow it. It may seem radical to some but I believe every word that Jesus spoke. Are you running the race of faith or are you bystander watching those who are running the race? Do you cheer them on or do you jump in the race when they stumble to help them to the finish line? We all have choices to make, which one will you make? Have a blessed day and RISE UP CHILDREN OF GOD, RISE UP!!!!!!
