Some hard topics
Good morning brothers and sisters. I pray this day is finding you blessed. Today we are going to look at a hard topic. I have always said that if God wanted us to talk about it then we will. We as Christ-followers can't shy away from the hard stuff just because it makes people uncomfortable. The hottest topic right now is marriage. And if you are aware the government just signed into law a new definition of marriage. But who designed marriage? That is what we are going to look at. Who designed marriage? We need to go back to the beginning. See, I find that when something is hard, go back to the beginning. Genesis 2:15- And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." God saw that man did not need to live alone. But lets look how God created man a helper. 21-25. 21- And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22- Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man. He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23- And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of m flesh. She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." 24- Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25- And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Now that is pretty clear who designed marriage. GOD DID! And no man can change God's design. They can try but ultimately they will fail. By God's design a marriage consists of one man and one woman. I know you are going to say that many of the Old Testament had several wives. That is still not God's design. Here it is in black and white- one man and one woman. No other design then what God has laid out for us. And here is the kicker- marriage is designed for life. Oh God later gives provisions for a divorce but those provisions are very small. But His design is one man and one woman for life because they are one. It does not surprise me at all that the world-view wants to change God's design. That my friend is the enemy. And we as Christ-followers stood by and let it happen. But it is time for us to take a stand on what God says and say no. I am not trying to be political but this is God's word, not ours. This reminds me of a Scripture in Romans. Romans 8:6-8. 6- For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7- Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8- So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. The world can define marriage however it sees fit but I will stand by the definitions that God gave. If they are doing laws that are not moral then they are against God. What say you? Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
