Silence
Good Morning brothers and sisters. Yesterday you were aware of the power going out. I want to touch back on that again. Now I live in the country where we don't have city lights on every corner. So the dark sky is not lit up like the day. But with that being said, when the power goes out and what few lights that you do have outside are out, it is not just dark but pitch dark. The house is silent. And I mean you hear every little sound that you would not normally hear. So after getting coffee and getting mama some coffee, I grabbed the lamp and the Bible and sat down with God. Now this silence this morning was different. I get up really early to study and pray and get my day started but yesterday was different. I could feel a peace presence in the house. So I just opened the Bible and started reading God's word. And the one the Scripture God kept pressing in my brain was Psalm 46:10. Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! So I sat the Bible aside and just sat, eyes closed and rested in the presence of my Lord and Savior. I listened to God. Didn't ask nothing, didn't praise Him. NOTHING! It was in that silence that God answered some prayers that I had been praying about. One of the answers came from after years and years of praying and not knowing. Silence can be a great thing. It allows us to hear God without all the distractions. So I challenge you, wake up early one morning, grab a lamp, cup of coffee(if you so desire), grab your Bible and sit in the presence of the Almighty God and listen. It gives you the best peace that you will ever know. And you just might find the answers that you have been looking for all along. Have a blessed day and rise up children of God, rise up!
