Seeking God's Face

I have to tell you the truth. God is not hiding. He is wanting to be found by you. Deuteronomy 4:29 tells us : But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him IF you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul." We have to seek Him with all out heart and all our soul. Proverbs 8:17 says, "I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me." It says to diligently seek Him. That means to look for God as if your life depends on it because to quite frank, it does. Acts 17:24-28 says this, " God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He had made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us: for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, "For we are also His offspring." Are we truly seeking God's face? Seeking God's face means seeking His presence. God is omnipresent, we are not. 1Thessalonians 5:16-22 says this, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil." Philippians 4:4-7 says this, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. This Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heats and minds through Christ Jesus." And Matthew 26:41. "Watch and pray, lets you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." How many of you fast? And we can fast from all sorts of things. When we fast, we do not fast as the world sees it. Joel 2:12; "Now, therefore, says the Lord, Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping and with mourning." What about Daniel 9:3; Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes." Now how about Acts 14:23; "So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed." The last of Scriptures tells us to stay connected to Jesus. John 15:1-8; I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser; every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in hi, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." How about James 4:6-10; "But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud. But give grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. And then when Jesus had to return to heaven, He sent one to be with us. He sent the Holy Spirit to live inside us. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom, knowledge, discernment, He guides us. John 16 tells this story. This is much longer for me to write then it will be for you to read. But look at all the Scripture that God left us for a holy living. Dust off your swords and rise up children of God.
