Put on the whole thing
Good morning brothers and sisters. Yesterday I wrote about the evil of the world and why. Do you want to know how we can stop it? Well we can't. But we can spread the love of God so that the darkness/evil doesn't take us down. And what I mean by that is: we don't worry, we are not anxious. We stand firm in the promises that God has already made. If you are a follower of Christ, you know the times are tough and He did warn us of these things. So it goes without saying that we should put on the clothes of Christ everyday and not take them off. You could do like I do when reading the Scripture, I actually act out that I am putting them on. So let's take a look. Ephesians 6:10-20. 10- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11- Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. By putting on the whole armor of God, we can stand against the devil. Note it doesn't say do it by yourself. It is only with the armor of God that we can stand against him.12- For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. See just like God uses His people, the devil uses his people. 13- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day; and having done all, to stand. God provides the armor, our job is to put it on and use it. 14- Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness 15- and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16- above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18- praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for the saints, 19- and for me, that utterance may be given to me that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20- for which I am an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly as I ought to speak. See God gives us everything to protect ourselves. He protects our thoughts, our hearts and gives us the power to move and speak boldly. Now it is our job to put it on and take up His word and fight the good fight. So as you leave the house today and do what you have to do- do not forget to put on the armor of God and He will protect you throughout the day. Have a blessed day! Rise up child of God, rise up!
