Politic or Christian?

Good Morning all. Got a question is it ok to be a Christian and be political? The first Scripture that I want to point out is 1 Timothy 2:1-2- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for ALL men, for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." Some of you may not want to hear this but you also should be praying for whatever political party that you DO NOT agree with. Yes, I said it. We need Godly wisdom, knowledge and discernment for those that are in high places. We should have prayed and sought God before we voted. Stop with the political party lines and start with God. We also need to being praying for those that seek to destroy that God will open their hearts and minds, not for total destruction. We also know that the First Amendment is FREEDOM OF SPEECH! But as a Christian we have to be careful how we exercise that right given to us. James 3:3-6- "Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that if defiles the WHOLE body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell." Then look at verse 8- "But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. v9- Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things out not to be so." And believe me, I will stake everything I have on this: THERE IS MANY, MANY more about our talk. So when we talk about freedom of speech- then let's do it the way Christ taught us- 1 Peter 3:8-12- "Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, KNOWING THEAT YOU WERE CALLED TO THIS, that you may inherit a blessing. For he who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him see peace and pursue it. For they eyes of the Lord are on the righteous. And his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." We are to show the hypocrisy because Jesus did with the religious rulers of his day. But we are to do it with the love of Christ and not go all crazy. We stand firm and not back down but we don't go out looking like a crazy person that does not know what he is talking about. Because if we don't take a stand then all states will do like California and ban singing in church. So let's crack open God's Word, seek the truth, ask the Holy Spirit into our hearts and let's start a revival. Let me tell you, if I could I would be on the next plane to California and standing in front of the church SINGING!!!!RISE UP!! We are very close to losing. It is about showing others the love of Christ. But before you crack open that Bible, get on your knees because without God, the Bible is just words printed on a page. RISE UP!
