Please hear!
Good morning brothers and sisters. Today, I am going to write to you from the perspective of a mom and then a grandmother. Before I became a mom, I was really not in-tune with hearing and responding to a baby's cry. When I became I mom, I heard every cry, every whimper, every movement. I knew my child. Then my children grew up and I thought that instinct to hear a baby cry would diminish. But boy was I wrong. When I became a grandmother, that instinct was still there. I now hear my grandchildren's every cry, every whimper, every movement. And I do what is natural, I go to them. Then it got me thinking, when we become true followers of Jesus, don't you think we hear Him? I mean the longer we walk with Him, the more natural it becomes to hear Him. And the more natural it is, the less likely we are to be disobedient to Him. But I read this morning, we can choose not to hear Him. Hebrews 3:7-15. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today IF you WILL hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore, I was angry with that generation and said, 'They always go astray in their heart and they have not known My ways.' So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest." Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called TODAY, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: "Today IF you WILL hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." You notice that he says "If you will hear His voice." That my friend, is a choice. I want my life to be so natural with Christ that when He says ,"Kim," I say "Here I am." Hear Him today! Listen like you have never listened before. He is calling out to you. Do not harden your hearts. Or even worse dismiss it. Rise up child of God, rise up!
