Peace?

Good morning brothers and sisters. Have we misunderstood Jesus all these years? We have all heard that Jesus loves us. True statement! We have heard that Jesus wants us to be heirs with Him in the kingdom of God. True statement! But do we ever tell people that Jesus tells us, we will have strife, persecution, division. Now we should not have division in the body of Christ but the division comes from those of the world and those of Jesus Christ. There is the division. In Matthew 10: 34-39, Jesus is pretty straightforward about the division He brings. It is a good division. He is fulfilling the parable from yesterday's writings- the wheat and the tares. Let's take a look, then I will ask one question. 34- Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. Now remember, the sword is the word of God. And I promise when you mention the name of Jesus, some people get real upset. Some people will walk away from you. Some people will tell you that you consider yourselves better than them. As long as you are following Jesus with a humble heart and no pride has taken root, then this is just an accusation not the truth. Be careful! 35- For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36- and a man's enemies will be those of his own household. Now wait a minute, it is in the same household that God will divide. Yes! He is separating the wheat from the tares. Yes, even in your own household. 37- He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. Now Jesus is not saying don't love these members. We can't put these members before Him. And when Jesus is the reason for all of your actions, the love you have for your family will be so much more. We learn what agape loves is when Jesus is our all in all. 38- And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. Now do you take up your cross and follow Him wherever or do you have conditions? This is a hard one! Also on the division of the household, just look at what is going on with our children. Do not bury your head in the sand and think it won't come to you because it will. 39- He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. My life is for Jesus and Jesus alone. I will walk alone if He calls me to it, will you? Repent, revive, refresh! Rise up children of God, rise up!
