Obeying God

Good morning all. I hope to find this day blessed. Studying God's Word takes time. But in order to obey God, we have to know what He says. He gives us a guide on how to live. We have 66 books to tell us w we ever need to know on how to obey Him. But I want to go to the prophet Jeremiah. And I feel like Jeremiah some days. We are in Jeremiah 42. Let's start with this scripture. 4-"Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard. Indeed, I will pray to the Lord your God according to your words, and it shall be, THAT whatever the Lord answers you, I will declare it to you. I will keep nothing back from you." When I obey God, I have to tell of the good news but also of the wrath and the dangers of not obeying God. And sometimes the answer is not what we want to hear but we must speak the truth from God. Let's move on in the scripture. 5- So they said to Jeremiah, "Let the Lord be a true and faithful witness between us. If we do not do according to everything which the Lord our God sends us by you. 6- Whether it is pleasing or displeasing, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God to whom we send you, that it may be well with us when we obey the voice of the Lord our God." Now look they sent Jeremiah to pray or actually to intercede for them with God. They said that they would do all that God said whether they liked it or not. If you are praying for something and the answer is not what you think it should be or God points in another direction, do you change or do you continue on with what you want to do? Obeying God's voice is tough. Because more times than not, it is uncomfortable for us. It goes against our very nature. Living a life like Jesus means uncomfortable, it means going where no one else wants to go. So Jeremiah goes. It took 10 days for the Lord to respond but respond He did. Let's look. 7- And it happened after 10 days that the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah. 8-Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah, all the captains of the forces which were with him, and ALL the people from the LEAST even to the GREATEST, 9- and said to them, "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition before Him. 10- If you will still remain in this land, then I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up. For I relent concerning the disaster that I have brought upon you. 11- Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid, do not be afraid of him, says the Lord, for I am with you, to save you and deliver you from his hand." What a beautiful promise! We too can have that saving, that building up, that planting and no fear if we would just obey God for our own personal lives. We must first obey God before we ever try and get the world to see God. Are you obeying what God is actually telling you, or are you going on your own? Have a blessed day and rise up children of God, rise up!
