Now Saul
Good morning brothers and sisters. I have to honest, I am struggling today and that is ok. I know where I need to be and that is communicating with my Lord and Savior. He knows what is going on and He will provide what I need in this time. You notice I said what I need and not what I want. He knows how everything should be and as long as I am obedient to Him, He will continue to light the path. Now that being said, it takes us to Saul. Now you know, Saul did not like the Christ-following, Jesus-loving people too much. He chose what he was taught and did what He was commanded to do. But you know, God needed Saul to be Saul to teach us that it doesn't matter how far you have gone, IF you seek Me, you will find Me. Now lets take a look at what happened to Saul. Take this scripture internally. Acts 9:1-9. 1- Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2- and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now Saul went to the high priest. The high priest did not call for Saul. Did you happen to catch that? Saul REALLY did not like people who followed Jesus. 3- As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Now we know Saul knew the law. And I don't mean just the law but the Law of God. So he believed in God. 4- Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" 5- And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." Now if you don't know what a goad is, it is a long stick that you guided the ox with. When you struck the ox, it would go the way you wanted it too. So Jesus is basically saying, "I have struck you, there is no use in resisting Me." It is the very same with us. But boy do we try. 6- So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." Now looky there. Jesus did not lay the whole plan out for Saul, He gave him but one instruction to follow. And when Saul followed that first command, then the Jesus would give him more. Wow, I think I just got my answer that I was struggling with this morning. Thank You Jesus for the answer. See, you never know when it will come, just be obedient and it will come. 7- And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. Now I know they really didn't know what to do. They could hear someone talking but saw no one. 8- Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9- And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Now Saul is blind and he is in the city. He followed the one command. Will you? I don't know what God is calling you to but don't resist Him. His plan is so much sweeter than anything we could ever plan. Have a blessed day! Rise up child of God, rise up!
