My cry!
Good morning brothers and sisters. I have been on a different path ever since Easter. It is more about changing everything about me to become more Christ-like. It has not been easy. I am learning new ways to think, new ways to talk, new ways to act. But with that also comes a boldness that I never had before. I accepted Jesus a very long time ago. I have stumbled and gotten back up and stumbled again. I have been baptized with water in name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I have sometimes let the Holy Spirit lead me; sometimes not. But on this Easter, I was baptized with the Holy Spirit fire. And yes it is Biblical. Matthew 3:11- "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He WILL baptize you with the Holy Spirit AND fire." Those are the word of John the Baptist. And when the Holy Spirit gets into you; you change. See the disciples were told by Jesus to go and wait for the Holy Spirit. So they did. And look what happens when the Holy Spirit descends. Acts 2:1-4. 1-When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2- And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3- Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of FIRE, and one sat upon each of them. 4- And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Can we have that upper room experience? The answer is a resounding yes! We also need to do what Isaiah said. Isaiah 64:1- Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence-. If the mountains shake at His presence, what would it do for those who are filled with Holy Spirit? What does rend the heavens mean? To rend something means to divide; break or tear apart. That means Isaiah is wanting God to tear open the heavens and come down. But for God to do that, we must first rend our hearts back to Jesus. There is a very quoted scripture that people like to use but do they understand what it means. 2 Chronicles 7:14- if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now I saw this scripture a lot in 2020. But did we really humble ourselves, pray, seek His face? Did we turn from our wicked ways? Nope, because here we are in 2023 and we are worse off than before. If we want God to act, we must first rend our hearts! Rise up child of God, rise up!
