Knowledge
Good morning brothers and sisters. You know there is one thing about me that most people don't know. I love to learn and to be quite honest, I don't really care the topic. I love to learn. But does that make me any smarter. No not really. Like my husband says, "You are a jack of all trades but a master of none." No that does not hurt my feelings because he is exactly right. But sometimes when you have knowledge you think that you are superior to others. Well I know more than you so therefore you need to listen to me. That is not always the case. Knowledge is good but wisdom is great. And wisdom only comes with growing. But back to knowledge. 1 Corinthians 8:1-3 said this to me this morning. 1- Now concerning things offered to idols. We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up but love edifies. Now you might say he is talking of idol worship and I would say that you were right. We know that anything can be an idol. But it was those who knew that idol worshipping was wrong and they didn't handle it the correct way. Paul told them that their knowledge hurt but if they love, it would edify. And we can love and correct at the very same time, just ask any parent. 2- And if anyone thinks that he knows anything he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. Paul here is telling just because you know the law does not mean anything. You should know that love will correct the wrong quicker than any calling out and shaming. Also see this is why that statement by my husband doesn't hurt my feelings, it is Biblical. No, I am just kidding. That was meant to be a joke. Laugh. God wants you to. 3- But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him. See God loves us. And whether we like it or not, He loves all human beings and wants to be their Father. He wants us to be His children. He loves us through it all. So if we are to be imitators of Christ, then shouldn't we love through it all. Have wisdom, have knowledge but with it love through it all. Rise up child of God, rise up! Have a blessed day!
