Keeping our word
Good morning brothers and sisters. I am up and studying. Today I have to go to selection of jury duty. Now I have served before and now know how this works. But part of me wanted to figure out a reason as for me not to go. Was there some excuse that I could give not to have to go? Oh sure I have a reason and it is true but is it 100% true? And the answer to that question is no, it is not. Just because I got summoned does not mean that I will get picked. And I guess I could just not show up but that is technically against the law. I try to follow the law of the land. And I opened my Bible and this is the very first scripture that I saw. Romans 13:1-2.1-Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2- Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. So I guess that answered the question. I am that soul. And the law says I need to show up and if I don't then I am not also breaking the law of the land, I am breaking God's law. But me being stubborn, I decided to look for another scripture. And God being God, sent me to this one. Luke 11:27-28. 27- And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" 28- But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" So now I just have to say, "Ok God!" What else can I say! God told me His word and reaffirmed it with another scripture. See I don't get to do the parts that I agree with and not the other. I either follow God's commands or I don't. How about you? Is God asking you do something that you don't want to and it keeps getting reaffirmed? Don't pick and choose. Just say "OK God!" and do it! Have a blessed day and rise up child of God, rise up!
