Keeping our tongue

Good morning brothers and sisters. I have found that one way to find joy is holding my tongue. And when I do speak, let is be done with love even when it is rebuke. Sometimes for me it is not what I say but how I say it. And the Bible is full of instructions on the tongue. So this morning I had to look at some. I had to pray if I said something that I needed to ask forgiveness for from the Lord and from the person. Or is God preparing me for something today. But I must take heed of these scriptures. Proverbs 15:1-5 and this is just a few. 1- A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. This is done with love and through the Holy Spirit. Because I know me, I will lash out quickly. Lord, change that in me. 2- The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of the fools pours forth foolishness. I also have to not boast about myself when God has given me wisdom. I speak when He says to speak. This is hard. Just because I know the answer doesn't mean I should speak the answer at all times. 3- The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. God knows what is going on at all times. 4- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. With my mouth I can either uplift or tear down. Now I know sometimes things that people don't want to hear has to be said, but it can be done right and with love. Not the way I do it. 5- A fool despises his father's instruction but he who receives correction is prudent. I don't know about you but I once had hard time with correction. I think we all did at some point. But I would rather be corrected on earth and forgiven then God not have His hand on me. Now correction for me is a blessing. How is your tongue? Is it keeping you from your calling? Hold your tongue and let the Holy Spirit tell you when to speak or when to just let it go, it will bring so much joy. Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
