Just some milk and coffee

Good Morning all, I hope yesterday was a blessing for each of you. I know it was for me. I got to learn to trust Jesus just one more day. So like I said yesterday let's just start with some basic truths. Let's dig into this and let God's word speak light into our dark places. Let God transform our hearts, our minds and our souls, so we never walk in darkness again. So we talked about believing and forgiveness yesterday how it starts. We will get deeper and deeper as we go along. And I promise you this, when this "social distancing" is all over, I will still be here writing and speaking God's truth, will you? Let's turn to John 14:15. Jesus talking, "If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. (Jesus still did not leave us alone.) I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them." Guys right there at the very end, Jesus tells us we have to keep his commands. We have to listen to him and follow directions, not our own way. I need everyone to get back to the basics and remember what Jesus commands of us. But let's just start with the basics. Turn to Exodus. He gave Moses just 10 basic commandments to give to the people when he brought them out of Egypt. 10 basic commands and how many of us follows just 10. I am not going to write them as the Bible does but put them in laymen's terms. Let's go through them.1. No other gods,only the real God- notice gods can be anything that you put before God.ANYTHING!!!2. No carved gods of any size, shape or form- Do not bow down and worship these images.-Nothing is higher than God. We pray to all kinds of things and this is what he is talking about. We don't need to pray to anyone or anything but God. If you do then, STOP! 3.No using the name of God, your God, in curses or silly banter; God won't put up with the irreverent use of his name-We all know the curse word that makes most cringe but what about saying "Oh God" or "Oh Lord" in passing. If you are not using those phrases when calling on him and there is a sentence after it or you have used it as an exclamation then you are using God's name the wrong way. 4. Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Guys I am not going to debate which day is the Sabbath but I will tell you this, take one day and rest. no work- outside job or in the house- no cooking plan your meals, no going to restaurants NOTHING but REST. Rest in God's arms. He commands us to take a day off, so take it. But get in his word and let that day be about complete rest in Him.5.Honor your father and mother. Guys respect them, respect others. If you honor them then you are honoring God. I didn't say you had to be there best friends. But do honor them that gave you earthly life. If we can't honor human beings how can we honor God. 6.No murder. Even in thought. 7 No adultery. I hope that I don't have to explain this one. Please don't make me. 8 No stealing. I hope I don't have to explain this one. 9. No lying. Even little white lies. Just tell the truth even when it hurts. Also don't make it bigger than it really is. Because that is a lie also. Nothing but the truth, the whole truth. We must start with ourselves. Be honest to yourself. 10. No lusting after your neighbor's house. Be content and happy with what you have. Don't try to be like everyone else be who God made YOU to be. Ok 10 basic commands. How are you doing? I fail miserably some days and others do great. Of the 10 which ones do you fail at?
