Jesus is calling
We have looked at all it takes to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ is belief. But what comes next? Repentance, asking Him to take over our lives. What? Yes, all of that is true. But what does the next day look like after we have received Christ over our lives? The next day the enemy comes a knocking. The enemy can not let you go so easily. Here is where us as followers of Christ step in. Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but EXHORT one another daily, while it is called 'Today', lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: 'Today IF you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." Hebrews 3:12-15. Christ followers when we know that someone is new to Jesus, then it is our job to step in and see that the enemy does not come and hardened the heart of the new believer. We are show them how to live for Christ, not just "Oh they got saved today, they are good." We are to lift them up, encourage them and truly let them know what it is like to be a follower of Jesus. The Scripture says TODAY! You don't get to say, "I will do it tomorrow when I have more time." Today may be the saving grace that God wants you to extend to that new Christ Follower because tomorrow their heart may turn back. Or tomorrow your heart may turn back. It also says that If anyone hears his voice, that means not all will hear from God, only His children. So today, if I have to apologize to anyone that was a new Christ Follower and I didn't hear God's voice to come to you. "I AM SORRY!" But today, now that I truly follow Christ, I will always heed His voice. If you are truly following Jesus be the help that God has asked you to be and move. Help the new Christ Follower, they are excited and they are scared. But please do not do it with arrogance and haughtiness, pray and listen, God will provide. Be blessed and rise up children of God, rise up.
