How to walk!!
Good morning brothers and sisters. I am watching my granddaughter learn how to walk. She walks a little bit and she falls. But just like any other child, she doesn't give up. She gets back up and tries it again. I think we could learn a lesson from this. Most babies when learning new things, they don't give up. They keep practicing until they have mastered the skill. Why do we Christians not do that? We too are shown how to walk but when we fall down, we stay down. When things get hard, we turn back. We don't stay focused on the skill that we are trying to learn. Lets look at Galatians 5:16-26. 16- I say then, WALK in the Spirit, and you shall NOT fulfill the lust of the flesh. (By the way, this teaches us holiness). 17- For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. See our bodies and our Spirit are at war with each other. One wants the desires of the world and the other wants the desires of God. We have to decide which one gets control. I promise you, it is a daily struggle and we have to commit daily, hourly, second by second, to walk in the Spirit. Because which ever you choose to live, they will produce things in your life. 18- But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now lets see which produces what. 19- Now the works of the FLESH are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20- idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21- envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who PRACTICE such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Not many people want this list. Now the Spirit. 22- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23- gentleness, self-control. Against such there is not law. I want these. 24- And those who are Christ's have CRUCIFIED the flesh with its passions and desires. 25- If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26- Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Lets learn something from the babies- when we fall, get up and continue on practicing the skill to where you don't even have to think about it. Guys-WE HAVE A SIN PROBLEM!!! When are we going to be "IF MY PEOPLE" again. Rise up child of God, rise up! I think I need to say wake up child of God, wake up!!!!
