Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8- Red letters, so those that don't know what red letters are- in the Bible it means Jesus is speaking and we should take heed of these words. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." If Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit then we know that it is sent from Him. He tells them that since He has gone away, the Father has sent help. We are not in this alone. We must have the Holy Spirit to be true witnesses of God, who else can help us discern the words of the Bible except the One that God sent. While Jesus was still with them, He told them of the coming of the Holy Spirit also. John 14:26 again in red letters. "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." He foretold of the Holy Spirit coming. Do we not know that we have the same Spirit living in us if we follow Jesus. There is no reason why, if anyone is living fully for Christ, can not understand the Words of God. God gives these beautiful gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of ALL: for to one is give the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." God gives but do we receive? Are we using the gifts that God has so freely given? But we have to be living with Holy Spirit in our lives fully in order to tap into these gifts. In Acts 2:1-4, it describes the 12 receiving the Holy Spirit. "When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." The Holy Spirit ascended upon them and filled them with His presence. Again we have the same access to the same Spirit, but why do oh why do we not access it in our lives FULLY. I will leave you with this because these are Jesus' words not mine. John 16:5-15; "But now I go away to Him who sent Me and none of asks Me, where are You going? But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when he comes, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgement, because the ruler of this world is judged. I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak of His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. " Pray that the Holy Spirit fills you and reveals the gifts that God has so graciously given. If just a fraction of Christians would truly live in the Holy Spirit what a world this would be, even the most horrendous of times. Have a blessed day and RISE UP!
