Holiness
Good morning brothers and sisters. While I am still waiting on the conversation from the other day to still take place, I was studying on holiness. But what does that mean exactly? Let's look at some scripture: 1 Peter 1:15-16- but as He who called you is holy; you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." Which this scripture also connects with Leviticus 19:2- Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them; "You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy." We are to be holy because God is. You know I have always said living for Christ is one of the hardest things that I have ever done in my life. And it is. Because living for Christ goes against me and the world. When I live a holy life it means that I am dead to sin. The Bible actually tells us to be dead to sin. Romans 6:11- Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. I have a choice to make when I am about to sin, do it or die to it. Because if I belong to Christ, the old is dead and the new has come. Don't believe me let's go to scripture. 2 Corinthians 5:17- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. When we accept Jesus Christ in our lives, we accept to be holy. Being holy is a lifestyle. We are to obey Christ Jesus in all areas of our lives. The world would just love it if we kept our holiness in the church or our homes, but that does contradict God's word. Mark 16:15- And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." That is our commission. To show the world Jesus. You must first accept Christ. Once that is done and you learn to live for Him, holiness comes. You don't wake up and just become holy. As you are obedient to Christ Jesus and you chose Him over everything else, the holiness comes. It is a mindset and a lifestyle. It is about your choices. It is not that you are some super Christian. It is not that you are better than anyone else, it is simply- YOU CHOSE CHRIST! Have a blessed day! Rise up child of God, rise up!
