Heaviness and uplifting
Blessed Morning to all. I woke up wide awake at around 2 am. I tried to go back to sleep but to no avail. So I thanked the Lord for allowing me to wake up and to hear Him. I have to admit I was not a very good Christ follower yesterday. I made some mistakes, I asked God for forgiveness and now its a new day. So I looked at my computer and looked at the verse of the day. It had me go to Lamentations. And this is how I feel. And I am pretty sure this is how most people feel at some point. But we always have to look above the storm and know that He is right there guiding through the storm. I will be jumping around in Lamentations. So lets get started. Lamentations 3 is where I will start.
1- I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath. 2- He has led me and made me walk in darkness and not in the light. 3- Surely He has turned His hand against me time and time again throughout the day.
I have seen God's wrath and the wrath seems harsh. But I also look at it as He is disciplining me to be more of the image of Jesus. The second verse really took me by surprise because it says He led me and made me. Sometimes God allows us to go through the darkness so we can draw nearer to Him. As I saw yesterday, the light is not always around us. So therefore we must use the light of Jesus that is in us and let that light shine out the darkness. I did not do so well with that yesterday but today is a new day and it is at the front of mind and I am more aware of it. Today I will do better. I am not ashamed to say when I mess up because I know I mess up. But as I was reading there is more. Now through the verses Jeremiah talks about how he feels. But God had me go to verse 22 after reading the first three verse. The first three verses were exactly how I was feeling. But now lets look at verse 22.
22- Through the Lord's mercies we are NOT consumed. Because His compassions fail not. 23- They are new every morning, Great is your faithfulness.
God was reminding me that I recognized that I had messed up and He was right there. He refreshed me this morning. He has mercy for someone that messes up and He will not fail me. Then I had to go on to verse 24.
24- The Lord IS my portion, says MY soul. Therefore I HOPE in HIM! 25- The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
My whole being is for Jesus Christ. He is my hope and He and He alone will get me through this day as I am returning back to what caused me to stumble yesterday. But today and but God, it will be a better day. I have refocused my hope in Jesus and He will shine His light. So if you think you have messed up remember the Lord is YOUR HOPE! He will be there. Call out and He will tell you what to do. Have a blessed day and rise up children of God.
