God's House
Glorious Morning all. As I sit and listen to God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide me, and yes I let the Holy Spirit guide me in all of my ways. Sounds crazy to some but to those of you who are believers it is the most comforting guide that you can ever have. But back to the point. Why are we not working on God's house? I don't mean the church building where people go to worship but I am talking about the people. We are God's house. The Spirit lives within us not the building where we go. The Spirit shows up when we show up. o I turned to Hggai this morning and it is talking about building God's house. So let's look at this. This should speak volumes to us Christians today. So let's see whose heart gets stirred.
1- In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son Jehozadak, the high priest saying, 2- "Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: 'This people says, 'The time has not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built." 3- Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4- "Is it time for your yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins.
Note Haggai first speaks to the political leaders and the spiritual leaders. This should be a wake up call to our leaders political and spiritual. Also he questions them on their self-centeredness. Who cares what the church building looks like, God wants to see sold out, faith believing, hands working and full relying on Christ Christians. They worry about their own but have forgotten about God. Why do we worry about the things around us and not work on building God's house? Let's move on.
5- "Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways! Now he puts it all back on them. So let's take a look at the charges. 6- You have sown much and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes." Nothing they do physically is satisfiying. Why oh why do we also still go after these things? Here is your challenge for the day-Let's work on God's temple- US- and build it so that God can live within it and then the world sees God's glory and will turn back to Him. That is our job. We have to stand on the promises and laws of God and follow the example that Jesus Christ showed us. We have to get out of religion and get into Christ. Come together children of God. Rise up children of God. Pray children of God. Fast children of God. Seek His face children of God. We are HIS army, we must be ready in and out of season. Is your temple up to God's standards? Have a blessed day!
