Fulfillment of the Law

I spoke last Wednesday that God was about to do amazing things and it is starting. And it starts with me and you. I got asked the question "Kim, why do a Bible Study on Exodus? We don't live under the Old Covenant. Since Jesus came, we live under the New Covenant." And I had to respond, "That is not true." If we didn't need the Old Testament, we would not have the prophecy of Jesus and Jesus himself said that He didn't come to abolish the law." I then asked them a question, "Do you try and live by the 10 Commandments? That is from the Old Law." They truly did not know how to respond. The reason that I am doing Exodus is because God commanded it. I have to listen to God and not man. And it is written: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17. So if it is in the Bible it is meant for us to learn from and apply to our lives. Can I get an Amen! Also I have been accused of taking the Bible too seriously. WHAT!!!!! If you are a follower of Christ then you must take the Bible serious. Now back to why Exodus. In Matthew 5:17-22, Jesus, Himself, answers this. "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. You have heard that is was said to those of old, You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of judgment. But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca! shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, You fool! shall be in danger of hell fire." Jesus came to end the sacrificial law. We do not have to sacrifice as the Israelites did before Jesus. But Jesus expands on the foundation of the law. He calls us to control our thoughts and feelings as this is what can lead us to hell. And if you really look to the laws written in Exodus, our laws are founded on these same principals. And we should be following them. Do you know what Exodus means? It means a going out, a departure, usually a large number of people. God is calling His people out. He is preparing for our departure. If we can't get it right, how can the unbeliever of the world? Have a blessed day! Hit your knees and ask for discernment and for wisdom and for understanding. Let's Rise up and see a revival that this world has never seen before. Let's move the darkness out with out light, Jesus Christ.
