Fruit, good or rotten?

We discussed yesterday to judge or not to judge. I also spoke about being fruit inspectors. Matthew 12:33-37 (by the way RED LETTERS)- "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit." I could stop right there and that would be the end of it. We are known by our deeds and our words. But let's journey on. "Brood of vipers! (I think Jesus means business, check yourself and make sure he isn't talking about you.)How can you being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Ok so what you speak is what is in our hearts. Guys we need a heart transplant. I had to stop and pray and make sure my heart is in the right place. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they WILL GIVE ACCOUNT of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be JUSTIFIED, and by your words you will be CONDEMNED." That last part of the Scripture says we will be held accountable for what we speak and what we don't speak. So is your tree good or is it bad? If you are truly living for Christ and you have the Holy Spirit then you tree will be good. In John 15:16-17 (again red letters)- "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another." We are called to bear fruit, we get to decide what kind of fruit. Now let's look at the rest of the Scripture John 15:18-25- (Still red letters) "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (Uh, hello Jesus was attacked then and He is attacked now. What makes you any different?) "Remember the word that I said to you. A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, BUT NOW THEY HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR THEIR SIN. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, THEY HATED ME WITHOUT CAUSE." Jesus went against the grain but yet kept the law. Jesus stood up for what was right and for those who are down. He keeps calling us to love, but also with the rest of the Fruits of Spirit, Galatians 5:22-26- "But the fruits of the Spirit is LOVE,JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's HAVE CRUCIFIED the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another ,envying one another." Good Fruit or Rotten Fruit? That's todays question. Have a blessed day and RISE UP!
