Father of Lies

Good Morning all. God got me right out of bed this morning at 3 AM. He needed me to hit my knees and pray. He is showing us a glimpse of what is yet to come. And what are we doing about it? No we can not change what God has set forth to bring. But we can change lives. We can have peace in all the chaos. We can have joy with all the sadness. In 1Peter 5:8- "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." First I want to look at three words in this Scripture. Sober- most associates this word with drinking and yes it has to do with that but what does it mean Biblically? Self-control. You are in control of oneself. Vigilant- to be watchful, on guard. This is not the only Scripture where we are told to be sober and vigilant. God throughout the Bible is calling us to be alert, stand in the faith. What we have done is fell asleep at the wheel. Now the 3rd word-Adversary- your enemy. And in that same Scripture Satan is called the adversary. So we know who our enemy is- Satan. Just like God has disciples, Satan does too. Satan's disciples are called antichrist. What is an antichrist? Anyone against God. 1 John 4:1-3- "Beloved, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world." 1 John 2:22- "Who is a liar but who denies that Jesus is the Christ: He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son." And there is a couple of more. But my point is Satan uses people to be antichrist. In John 8:44- "You are of your father THE DEVIL and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his OWN resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." All Satan had to do was take God's Word and mix it with a little lie and now the whole world believes. 2 Peter 16-21. "For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory : This is MY beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." We have to first get in the Word. God has told us to be fruit inspectors, test the Spirits and know His Word. But He also warns us in 2 Peter 2:1-3- "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them and bring on themselves swift destruction. And MANY will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of the truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber." 1 Corinthians 1:10-13- "Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the SAME thing, and that there be NO DIVISIONS among you, but that you PERFECTLY JOINED TOGETHER in SAME MIND and in the SAME JUDGMENT. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says I am of Paul or I am of Apollos or I am of Cephas, or I am of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? " Wake up Christians! Not wake Baptist, not wake up Methodist, not wake up Pentecostal. Let's get out of religious ways and names. And my final Scripture Revelation 3:1-3- "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful (There it is again) and STRENGTHEN the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; HOLD FAST and REPENT. Therefore if you will NOT WATCH, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you." Christians, get out of what you believe and get into what God SAYS! Have a blessed day. RISE UP!!!
