Do we handle it this way?

Good morning brothers and sisters. You know God has me pondering many things these days. And to be perfectly honest with you, I am excited about it. It is correcting somethings that I always thought I knew to what God actually says. But yesterday I wrote about how we get upset when Jesus forgives and we don't think that person is worthy. Now today He has me reading and studying about when a brother or sister sins against you. And it got me thinking, do we handle it this way? Matthew 18:15-17. 15- "Moreover, if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him ALONE. If he hears you, you have gained your brother." Now I am going to pause for a moment. I wonder if we handle offenses like this scripture alone, how often would that be the end of the disagreement. Maybe the person did not even know that they sinned against you. Maybe the person didn't know they hurt your feelings with their words. See how much better Jesus' way is than ours. But if the person doesn't respond well then of course Jesus gives us the answer to that also. 16- "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established." So pause again. After we have spoken one on one then we go and get others. And yet again if things still are not turning out well, then Jesus gives us another response to take. 17- "And if he refused to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses to even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector." Then finally we take it to the body of other believers. We don't start there. No where in that scripture does it tell you to go and tell the whole town before you even speak to the person. See, I think this is where we get into a lot of trouble. So if you are a Christian, man oh man, you better listen to this scripture. Handle it the way Jesus told us to. Rise up child of God, rise up!
