Do we?

Good morning brothers and sisters. Do we abuse grace? I watched and listened to some people talking. And in my own head wondered, do we abuse grace? It is a question worth asking and worth seeking the answer. We use scriptures like Romans 3:23-24: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,. My favorite here lately is "Nobody is perfect. We all sin." Are we using that as an excuse? Do we actually believe Jesus when in His word He continually says, "Go and sin NO more." Or do we use the excuse that He will forgive? Have we made sin so common that we don't even feel the Holy Spirit nudging us anymore. These are the thoughts in my head. This morning as I was praying and seeking, this word of the Lord came. Proverbs 16:6- In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; AND by fear of the Lord one DEPARTS from evil. Why do we not strive to be holy? 1 Peter 1:15-16- but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy for I am holy." If we are not striving to be holy, are we truly living for Christ. If we could not obtain it, it would not have been written. And to be holy means we have to live fully in Christ. We are only holy because He is holy. Holy means set apart. And what are we set apart for? Jesus Christ. So back to my original question, are we abusing grace? Do we make too many excuses? I am asking the Lord to show me how to be holy, to be set apart. I want Him to make me in His image. One thought, one word, one action at a time. Change me Lord not to use the excuses that we so readily have available. Rise up child of God, rise up!
