Celebration!
Good morning brothers and sisters. I want to wish you a Happy 4th of July. Today we celebrate the freedoms that others have died for. In order for us to have freedom, blood had to shed. We will get together with friends and family. We will cook some good food. We light the skies with beautiful fireworks. We should do these things. Don't forget about the ones who died to make all of this possible. But do we give Jesus the same kind of celebration. You know He died for you also. He shed His blood also. The soldiers died for our physical freedom, Jesus died for both the physical and spiritual freedom. Do we get together with family and friends for what Jesus has done? Do we cook good food for what Jesus has done? Do we light up the skies with beautiful fireworks for what Jesus has done? The two times that we do celebrate what Jesus has done is usually overshadowed by Christmas trees and presents and Easter egg hunts. This is what we should be doing Psalm 47:1-2. Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. Let's praise the One who died for both our physical and spiritual. It is He and He alone that deserves all praise. Let's celebrate Jesus the way we are suppose. Rise up child of God, rise up!
