Can you imagine?
Good morning brothers and sisters. I was teaching and some were confused. They didn't understand one phrase, "the voice of God." In their mind they thought I heard a voice just like I hear another human beings voice. They didn't understand how I heard God's voice and they couldn't . I did explain. But did you know there was time when the people did hear God's voice. Could you imagine what He would sound like? We don't have to imagine, the Bible tells us. John 12:27-29. 27- Now My soul is troubled and what shall I say? Father; save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28- Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came from heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again." 29- Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken." They heard the voice of God. We thought it was just the Old Testament. It is in the Old Testament also. And it wasn't just prophets and disciples. This scripture said the people. Look at the Old Testament. Exodus 20:18-21. 18- Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightening flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. 19- Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die." 20- And Moses said to the people, "Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you. so that you may not sin." 21- So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. I wonder why we don't hear the voice of God like that anymore. You can't say it was just for the Old Testament because we have seen it happened in the New Testament. When it is the voice and I mean actual voice, it is always associated with loud thundering. Do you think the world would believe if they heard Him speak from heaven? Has God removed Himself because we chose not to hear Him? Just some thoughts that go through my head. Rise up child of God, rise up!
