Being Thankful
Good Morning brothers and sisters. I pray this day finds you blessed beyond measures. This is the season that we say that we are thankful. We come together with family, friends and sometimes strangers. But are we truly thankful? We say it but do we really mean it? We are living in a world where we truly only think of ourselves. We truly don't look at others first. Let me give you the scripture, I promise there is more. Philippians 2:1-4- "Therefore IF there is any consolation in Christ, IF any comfort of love, IF any fellowship of the Spirit, IF any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." Now what would that look like. Self-denial. ThanksGIVING is coming upon us so I will use this as an example. Every business that is corporate is opened. Why? Are they looking out for the needs of their employees? No, they are looking out for how much money can we make. Did you ever stop and consider that the one that is behind the counter has a family, is missing their family together just so you can buy? And I know that some volunteer for that day because they need the money. But what if we didn't buy, and we helped fill the need of the one that needs to work? What if we took them food? But more importantly think of that person instead of yourself and what you need. Oh so and so is coming to dinner, we don't have enough. Don't go to the store and get more just because they are opened. Pray and watch God do a fish and loaves miracle. See when we as Christ followers start looking at NEEDS and we fulfill them, people get better not corporations. So let's see who will join me this Thanksgiving and say "Not today, I will support people." Think about it. Think if it was you or a love one that had to work at a job that could close for one day. Now don't get me wrong there are some jobs that people have that it is a necessity for them to be open. Why not go and take them some apple pie? Why not take them some cookies? Be thankful for what you have and show others you are thankful for them. Have a blessed day and RISE UP CHILDREN OF GOD, RISE UP! Let's show the world Jesus this Thanksgiving!
