Are you working?
Good morning brothers and sisters. Yesterday was Labor Day! And believe me when I say that I labored, I labored. No, I didn't go to work but I did work. God has had me on this journey for awhile now. And it wasn't until yesterday that some pieces started to come together. I worked on scrubbing and cleaning my house. Getting rid of things that has been sitting in closets for a long time. Cleaning the nooks and crannies. I worked all day long, all the while having the praise music going and just praising my Savior. But as I looked around while I was working, I noticed I was the only one concerned with all the stuff. While I didn't need it, I knew someone who did and would greatly appreciate it. Then a scripture in Matthew came to my mind. Now each of you know that I am no Bible scholar but I do trust in the Lord and I do study all the time. I do pray for God to teach me His words and how to apply them to my life. So I got out the Bible and looked it up. Here is what I found: Matthew 9:35-38. 35- Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Jesus, Himself did all these things as an example for us to follow. I have no doubt that He could have just spoke and it would have happened. But He led by example. 36- But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Jesus saw the people coming from everywhere and knew we needed Him. He had compassion on them. Do we have compassion on others when see them struggle with their burdens that we can help with? 37- Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. The world is in need of the Lord and Savior that each Christ follower has inside of them. But sometimes we don't want to do the work. That is when it hit me, cleaning and scrubbing the house alone was a lesson. The workers are few and the work is mighty. Then what did Jesus do. 38- Therefore PRAY the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. He prayed. Don't get overwhelmed with the task that Jesus has set before you. Do one thing at a time and one foot in front of the other and God's will be walking with you the whole time. I had to and still have to learn this lesson- do the work, God will provide the rest in due time. So today I am so thankful for the labor that I done yesterday. I am getting ready for the harvest. Are you? Are you prepared? Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
