Are you bound?
Good morning brothers and sisters. I watched a dog that had been tied to an old tree for so long that there was an indented path where this dog paced. He paced day and night. He would growl and bark if you tried to come near. But when you looked into his eyes, you could see a plea for help. He was bound by heavy chains and to a big tree. But once he was freed, he didn't know it. He kept walking in the same path. He didn't walk as if someone had just set him free. I wonder how many of us still walk as if we are bound to the same old sin but Jesus has set us free. And this dog situation reminded me of the words in John 8:31-36. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, 'You will be made free.'"? Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." Jesus died for you not to have to live in bondage. Stop walking that same sinful path and digging the trench deeper. Once we showed the dog that he was freed, he stopped barking and growling and starting playing. He was truly a sweet dog. He was just scared. I am telling you that Jesus has set you free, live like it. Stop holding on to what keeps you scared and afraid. Give it to Jesus and live in the freedom that only He can provide. Rise up child of God, rise up!
