Are you afraid?

Good morning brothers and sisters. My question is are you afraid? You may ask, "What are you asking that I am afraid of?" And my answer is "Jesus." Are you afraid of Jesus? Now don't dismiss it so quickly. Are you afraid of Jesus? It is not uncommon for people to be afraid of Jesus. His own disciples were afraid of Him. John 6:18-21. 18- Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing. Now we know the circumstances they were in. Jesus was not with them. The previous verses told us He went on the mountain to be alone. But the disciples went down to the sea. So a storm was brewing. Life throws us storms all the time. 19- So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat, and they were afraid. Now they see this figure coming near them in the midst of the storm. It was dark and a storm was starting up. How does that describe your life at some point? Life can get dark and you do not know where or who is there to help. Then a figure starts walking towards you in the midst of the storm. I would be afraid too. 20- But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid." Then Jesus speaks. 21- Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going. Jesus speaks and it comforts them. And as soon as they accepted Him, they were right where they needed to be. See too many times we are afraid of the figure of Jesus. Too many times we are afraid of who people say Jesus is. But then Jesus speaks to you and it is comforting. But then the next part is completely on us, we have to accept Him in. And when we accept Him in, the storm calms and we are right where we need to be. Don't be afraid. Have a blessed day! Rise up child of God, rise up!
