Another response

Good morning brothers and sisters. Yesterday we looked at the response of Zacharias on the news of John being born. Now I want to take you to his wife, Elizabeth. We will start with the scripture where we left off. Luke 1:21-25. 21- And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple. So we know that Zacharias was in there longer than usual. This scripture says so. I bet he was, getting the news that he was getting and who he was getting it from. 22- But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless. What the angel of the Lord told him would happen has now happened. Let me ask you, now I know that it might not be Gabriel himself speaking to you, but when God sends a messenger do we listen? And if we don't why? Is it because we have gotten it in our minds that one God doesn't speak to us like this anymore and two we think we are not worthy to hear from Him? Both of those deal with unbelief, because let me tell you He still speaks to us. He may not send an angel but He does have messengers. And you are worthy to hear from Him. 23- So it was, as soon as as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. Now Zacharias didn't just sit down and not do his job, he finishes it and then goes back home. I am pretty sure he did his job in silence. Ha! Ha! I had to throw that in there. 24- Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months saying, 25- "Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people." She responded quite different. She saw this as a blessing and miracle. That the God she served was the God of the impossible. She should not be having a baby and now that she is- all those who whispered behind her back, would have to stop. Do we respond like Zacharias or Elizabeth? I wonder! Have a blessed day. Rise up child of God, rise up!
