And now Joseph

Good morning brothers and sisters. Today is the response of Joseph, the earthly dad of Jesus. It comes from Matthew 1. 18- Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows. After His mother, Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Now we have to remember Mary already knew but Joseph did not. How could you tell someone something like that? I don't know. I think even the most devout to Christ would have a hard time understanding this. 19- Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to maker her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. Now there was severe punishment if you were caught cheating. Joseph knew this child was not his, so Mary must have cheated. But he didn't want to harm her. He still had compassion on her. 20- But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying: "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21- And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name, Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. 22- So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23- 'Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel.", which is translated, "God with us." Now everyone was afraid until God sent a messenger. Everyone had doubts until God sent a messenger. Do we look for God's messengers today? It might come in a phone call from a friend, family. It might come from someone you don't actually know. It might come from a song. It might come from a dream. It might even come from a youtube video. You never know when God sends His messengers to you. 24- Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25- and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus. He did as he was commanded. He didn't look back. He knew that God had a plan and he was a part of it. So do you. Look for God's messages in your life and move forward and don't look back. Have a blessed day! Rise up child of God, rise up!
