A new baby is born
Good Morning all. I hope this day finds you well. Today is a new day after the storms raged through here last night. So let's just jump into Luke 2. 1. In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3. And everyone went to their own town to register. (Could you imagine every time a census was to be taken that you had to go back to the town where you originated.) 4. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. (Just look at where he had to go to register for the census. Now we all know there were planes, trains or automobiles. They had to walk and ride a donkey.) He went there to register with Mary, who was expecting a child. 5. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was not guest room available to them. (Could you imagine having your child in a barn and having no where to rest after) 8. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around the, and they were terrified. (now sit outside with nothing but the stars and your flock, waiting for anything that would come to steal and kill your lively hood. Then all of a sudden an angel appears, from scripture, shining brightly. I think that I would have ran. God does just that, he sends his angels to get our attention, do we always pay attention to what is right in front of us.) Guys look for the angels that God has sent you. You never know who they are unless you are living in the Spirit. Have a blessed day!
