Fear!
Good morning brothers and sisters. Fear is powerful. It is easy to say "do not fear." But the real test comes when fear strikes and you don't know what to do or where to turn. Fear has stricken my heart this morning. No, I will not go into detail but know that real fear has struck me. Now I can either sit and worry and let fear take control OR I can hit my knees and pray and seek the Lord. I am choosing the latter. Now my first step for combatting fear is to hit it with God's Word. Psalm 91:1-6. 1- He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2- I will say of the Lord, "HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS; MY GOD IN HIM I TRUST." (My emphasis). 3- Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and the from the perilous pestilence. 4- He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5- You SHALL NOT BE AFRAID of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6- nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. That is my first. Psalm 31:14-15. 14- But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." 15- My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. Psalm 56:3-4. 3- Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. 4- In God (I will praise His word), I will not fear, what can flesh do to me? I seek His guidance in all that I say and do and this is no different. If you are struggling with fear this morning, seek Him and let His peace wash over you. I have to remember this did not catch God by surprise. He is still in control. I just have to be obedient and trust in Him. The way, the truth and life are in Him. My life is in His hands. Rise up child of God, rise up!
